Folding handsaw Silky Pocketboy Curve 130-8
The Silky Pocketboy Curve 130-8 is an improved version of the popular hiking and survival saw, with a curved blade that increases efficiency and makes it easier to cut branches over our shoulders. Version with fresh wood grain.
The Japanese Silky brand of professional handsaws has been developed with a century-long tradition of reliable cutting tool manufacturing and modern technology. This combination results in Silky tools with high durability and sharpness, ensuring high cutting efficiency.
The Silky Pocketboy is a range of lightweight and handy compact travel saws that have been very successful in our country thanks to their performance and versatility. Pocketboy’s catches are particularly appreciated by survivalists, bush hunters, hunters and canoeists.
The Pocketboy Curve 130-8 saw blade is precision laser cut from high carbon steel, which is very flexible and highly resistant to blunting. Compared to straight saw blades, the new saw blade’s gently curved profile speeds up cutting and increases productivity by up to 15-20%. The slightly oval shape prevents the saw from falling from the cut and makes it easier to cut branches over our shoulders.
The surface of the blade is chrome-plated to protect against corrosion, wood sap and the damaging effects of weathering. Silky saws feature an advanced tooth design and “upside-down” sawing technique for maximum comfort and minimum energy consumption.
To increase efficiency, the sharp teeth are ground in as many as four planes. Importantly, only the edges of the teeth are induction hardened, so the rest of the blade is soft and flexible, preventing the saw from breaking during use or misuse. The cutting part is shaped like a tiger bell, so the blade doesn’t lock during cutting like most saws on the market.
This special tooth profile also maximises durability during cutting and the wood surface is extremely smooth after cutting.
The Pocketboy Curve 130-8 hand saw is equipped with a 130 mm blade with 8 teeth per 30 mm blade. This type of blade is best suited for sawing fresh branches up to 65 mm thick.
The saw is assembled in such a way that the aggressive teeth are safely inside the handle. The locking mechanism allows the blade to be locked in two different positions, depending on the situation and working conditions. The Pocketboy model uses a polypropylene handle for a good grip in all weather conditions. It comes with a handy lockable clear plastic sheath that protects the tool when carried in a backpack or toolbox.
The Silky Pocketboy Curve 130-8 is a pocket saw that is sure to appeal to survivalists, shrub hobbyists, hunters and those looking for a powerful tool for the garden or home workshop.
Silky Pocketboy Curve saws have interchangeable blades, available separately.
