The Fenix HM65R-T is a modification of the popular HM65R for the active commuter. The construction of the headband and the intensity ranges have been modified to make the lamp more suitable for active activities (hiking and travelling, light running, outdoor training, etc.). The HM65R-T is a seriously innovative, compact, powerful and extremely lightweight 18650 rechargeable battery powered headlamp. Unlike other professional headlamps and torches, the HM65R-T body is made of magnesium to achieve an additional 32% weight saving per unit volume compared to aluminium. The HM65R-T weighs just 91 grams without the power supply but with the headband. The HM65R-T is equipped with a much wider than usual airy headband with BOA fastening for comfortable adjustment. The use of a wider headband made it possible to omit the second part of the headband, which goes over the head, thus making it easier to use the lamp with the headgear and more stable during various active activities. Due to its design and lightness, the HM65R-T can be used for a wide range of purposes from running, skiing and cycling to work and hiking. However, the main target group of users is people who are active and sporty. The HM65R-T has two separate optics that can be operated by separate switches and combined. The larger of these is a white-light point-light optic with a luminous intensity of up to 1,300 lumens and a luminous flux range of up to 170 metres. The second, smaller optic, is a wide-neutral-white band of diffused light (TIR) optic with a luminous intensity of up to 400 lumens. The diffused light is designed for comfortable working at short distances. In both diffuse and spot modes, three different intensities are available (6 intensities in total). Both spot and diffused light can be used alone or combined to achieve a maximum luminous intensity of 1500 lumens. The HM65R-T is fully waterproof (IP68), tested to withstand up to 2 metres of impact, direct rechargeable with USB-C cable and comes with a replaceable 3400mAh Li-ion battery. If required, the lamp can also be used with single CR123A lithium batteries with high cold resistance. The headband that comes with the lamp is perforated for maximum breathability and has reflective elements. Due to its linear luminous flux stabilisation, the HM65R has particularly long operating times in different operating modes.

In addition, the HM65R-T features a battery charge level indicator, charge indicator, switch lock function, built-in overheat protection and reverse polarity protection. In addition to the bulb, the full kit includes a 3400mAh type 18650 Li-ion battery, headband kit, USB-C charging cable, spare ring grip and user manual.
